Welcome
aboard! U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 33 (District 11s) is
located in Long Beach California and conducts missions in and around
the third largest port complex in the world: L.A. Harbor/Long
Beach.
The purpose of
the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (CGAUX) is to assist the Coast
Guard:
to promote safety and to effect rescues on and over the
high seas and on navigable waters;
to
promote efficiency in the operation of motorboats and
yachts;
to
foster a wider knowledge of, and better compliance with, the laws,
rules, and regulations governing the operation of motorboats and
yachts;
and
to facilitate other operations of the Coast Guard.

We are looking for a few motivated men and women to join "TEAM COAST GUARD." The Auxiliary is currently expanding its voluntary role within the "COAST GUARD FORCES" to assist the U.S. Coast Guard in many of its primary missions during this period of restricted resources due to downsizing and cutbacks.
If you are at least 17 years of age, a U.S. citizen with no felony convictions, and would like to become a member of the team, we would encourage you to request an application from the link below.

CGAUX, through its local flotillas, provide public boating safety and
navigation classes.
Classes:
BRAVO ZULU to the Port of Los Angeles and the employees that successfully passed the USCG AUX Boating Safety and Seamanship course in 2008!

New Weekend Navigator Class. This is a 10 week course to learn about Navigation using charts, GPS and Radar.
Don't let the title fool you. This is an intensive course in navigation with electronics and classic tools with homework assignments
and practice exercises for weekends.
